Free time in Stuttgart

In Stuttgart , when we had free time we took the opportunity to talk to people, just to ask questions like:
Do you like live in Germany?
or
What do you do in Germany when you have free time like us?
This questions were asked to improve our English, and to have a dialogue with the persons who don't speak French!
And we went shopping because in Stuttgart there are a lot of boutiques and markets to buy clothes or souvenirs, or food and many things....

In our hostel we talked with the other persons mainly to girls (!) who stayed in the same hostel. And we can say the people are very very friendly and amiable because they are  not like French people ; in France if we speak to persons who are in the street or just to have information, the persons say
"NO TIME" but in Germany it is not like that, the people say
"YES what do you want?" and are happy so they smile, or in the hostel when we said  "Do you speak English ?" the people said yes and came to talk with us like as if we were friends.
So it's very nice and we have good memories of our trip to Germany.
German people are very nice!!!

The German behaviour

In Stuttgart, we have noticed that the Germans haven't got the same mentality as the French.
The Germans are clean: for example, they don't spit on the floor, the police control the children who are in the street in the morning to see if they have school.

The Germans are sociable, when we have to ask questions, the Germans answer with pleasure whereas in Paris people don't want to waste time answering questions.

The Stuttgart population is very silent compared to Paris. The city is as quiet as a library.

We have also noticed you have to pay to use the toilet everywhere, even at McDonald's.

About the youth hostel (jugendherberge) :

It's very large and clean , there is a lot of space in the rooms , the room is composed of four beds , a toilet and a shower.
There are a lot of games such as table football or billiards,

Spare Time in Stuttgart by Lucas and Dimitri

                                      Spare Time in Stuttgart

Stuttgart is an important tourist and university town. There is a great amount of shops and stores of every kind to please everybody.

Die Koenigstrasse, the Emperor's Street, is very famous because it's the longest pedestrian and shopping street in Europe.

It is 1.2 km long with plenty of shopping malls and restaurants.

It starts from the central station (the building with the Mercedes logo) and ends in the city centre close to the Town Hall (Rathaus).
This main street is very friendly and quiet unlike Paris because there are no cars. It's better for the environment and for shopping.

There is a huge shopping mall on a square of this street. It looks like an old Roman monument from the outside. It is called Konigsbau and has 5 floors. You can find a lot of things: clothes, videogames, furniture, etc... a bit like in Carré Sénart.

Inside the Konigsbau

Another view inside the Konigsbau
When you go abroad, you want to know if it's expensive to buy clothes in Germany. They cost the same price as in France, but it's awesome to go shopping when you're in another country.

During our freetime we visited the center of Stuttgart, we ate local food and went up to people to ask them some questions. In the youth hostel
we played table football, had a game of billiards and shared our ideas about the trip. We bought souvenirs. In our bedroom we watched some movies.

Free time

For 4 days, we had a time slot of one hour and a half each evening to go in the city of Stuttgart, which allowed some of us to buy souvenirs.
This has also enabled us to improve our English by being forced to speak differently with some people, vendors, and other people we encountered. Some Germans speak French well enough, but we are generally forced to practise our English.
For example some of us bought clothes and to do this we had to speak with some people to have their help about the sizes which are not like in France.

Visit of Stuttgart

Stuttgart city centre is a clean place where there are no cars.
When we were in Stuttgart the weather was the same as in France.

Many Germans speak English or French. That is very exceptional because not many French people can speak German.
The Germans take the time to listen to you, they are cheerful and nice, unlike people in Paris .

Stuttgart 21:

What is this? It's a german project to completely rearrange and modernize the railway junction in Stuttgart
The project start in 2010 and "il est prévu qu'il finisse" in 2020

Why this project? This project is separate in seven part:
At the first the old railway station will be transformed
At the second time they build 9.5 kilometters of tunnel
At the third time a new railway station will be built on the north of the airport
Fourthly they build a part of the future line between the airport and the neckar ( a river )
Fifthly construction of underground lines and a bridge of 350 metters over the Neckar
Sixthly construction of a tunnel which is 6 kilometters connecting the two railway station ( Obertürkheim and Untertürkheim )

Advantages and drawbacks : ON AS PAS FAIT

Opinions of Stuttgart's population? We have interviewed a lot of person and we will share to you some results:
For example in the perfumery, a seller given her opinion and she thinks
that the project is stupid, very expensive and that there will be a lot of
competition between the news shops and the old shops.
On the street we met two girls "et je te laisse inventer une suite"

Spare Time

During my travel, i saw a different clothing style on every persons, they have a very different style to French people, they do not pay attention on other people's opinions, in France, all people are afraid of not being attractive, every day we wish to be the most fit to be seen that we can with the look of others people, i like this way of thinking in Germany.
